My Top 5 Sticker Designs of All Time
Picking favorites is hard, but these five designs hold a special place. From Gallagher to Roy — the stories behind the stickers.
Every sticker I make teaches me something, but some just hit different. Here are my top 5 — and the stories behind them.
5. Auston Matthews
This one was all about the stache. I wanted the design to feel confident and a little cocky — just like 34 himself. The colour palette was tricky because the Leafs blue can look flat, but adding that subtle gold highlight on the visor really brought it to life.
4. Patrick Roy
Roy was one of the first stickers I ever designed. There's an intensity in his eyes that I spent hours trying to get right. The original version of this design had way too much detail — I had to strip it back and let the expression do the talking.
3. Marc-André Fleury
Fleury is pure joy. This was the easiest sticker to design emotionally because the reference photos practically drew themselves. That smile is iconic. I added the Vegas gold accents as a nod to where he really became a fan favourite all over again.
2. Brendan Gallagher
Gally is the heart and soul of the Habs, and this sticker needed to match that energy. I drew him mid-celly, mouth wide open, helmet slightly crooked. It's chaotic and beautiful — basically Gallagher in a nutshell. This is my best seller on Etsy by a mile.
